St. Louis Cardinals’ third baseman Nolan Arenado hit his second home run of the season on Sunday and a fan’s face felt the brunt of it.
St. Louis Cardinals’ Nolan Arenado is already doing what he does best this season…hitting home runs.
But his 377-foot blast on Sunday came at the very painful expense of a fan.
Against the Pirates on Apr. 10, Arenado hit a clean home run into the stands which bounced right off the face of a fan. Fortunately, the fan didn’t seem to bothered by it in the long run.

This comes just one day after Arenado powered the Cardinals to a 6-2 victory on Saturday. Two doubles and a single from the infielder accounted for three of those runs while Arenado scored two runs as a base runner himself.
Sunday’s home run put the Cardinals up 3-0 in the first inning. Just when it looked like St. Louis would rout the Pirates for the third time in their season-opening series, Pittsburgh stormed back to take a 5-3 lead in the third inning. They increased the advantage to 8-3 by the seventh inning.
The series will the Pirates will end on Monday. Then St. Louis will welcome the Royals for a short two-game series in the middle of the week. They’ll travel to Milwaukee to begin their first road trip of the campaign on Thursday.
