Whoever wins the 106th running of the Indy 500 will receive this amount of prize money.

The Indianapolis 500 is a Memorial Day weekend tradition on the sports calendar. On Sunday, May 29, the 106th running of the race takes place at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, where there are expected to be over 300,000 fans in attendance.

Last year, the winner of the Indy 500 was Helio Castroneves. That was the fourth time that the veteran driver kissed the bricks and drank some milk at the Speedway. That is the most all-time, where he is tied with A.J. Foyt, Al Unser and Rick Mears.

But this time, there is some interest to see whether Castroneves could pick up the win for the fifth Indianapolis 500 win, or if former NASCAR pace driver Jimmie Johnson could win in his debut.

Whoever wins out of the 33 drivers, viewers may be wondering what the winner will receive as a prize. Specifically, how much money do they win?
