One Eastern Conference team has shown their interest in Wisconsin guard Johnny Davis ahead of the NBA Draft.

The 2022 NBA Draft is quickly approaching, as the event takes place on June 23 at Barclays center in Brooklyn, N.Y. It is a foregone conclusion that Chet Holmgren, Jabari Smith and Paolo Banchero are going to be the first three players taken off the board, but what happens afterwards is anyone’s guess. As it turns out, one Eastern Conference team in the Top 10 may have hinted at which prospect they are interested in selecting.

According to Indiana Pacers reporter Tony East, the team is bringing in Wisconsin Badgers guard Johnny Davis for a pre-draft workout. The Pacers’ official Twitter account confirmed that the workout will be on Monday, June 13.

Pacers bringing in Wisconsin’s Johnny Davis for pre-draft workout

Indiana holds the sixth-overall pick in the NBA Draft, so it will be interesting to see what the team does if Davis is on the board. Never forget, teams do deploy smokescreens to hide their true intentions once they are officially on the clock. That, and this is the eighth pre-draft workout the Pacers have held.

Davis spent the past two seasons with the Wisconsin basketball program. This past year was when Davis was a regular starter. Through 31 games, Davis averaged 19.7 points, 8.2 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.2 steals in 34.2 minutes.

The Pacers are coming off of a dismal 2021-22 season that saw them finish with a 25-57 record under former Dallas Mavericks head coach Rick Carlisle. Midway through the season, they did make the big splash move of trading Damontas Sabonis to the Sacramento Kings in exchange for Tyrese Haliburton. T

Indiana has the chance to take the franchise in the right direction if they get the No. 6 pick correct. Whether it will be Davis is anyone’s guess.
