Adrian Yanez silences Tony Kelley with furious knockout (Video)

Despite all the noise and controversy coming from Tony Kelley and his camp, Adrian Yanez takes care of business and scores a huge first-round knockout.

The UFC may not officially have heels and faces like professional wrestling does, but sometimes it still feels good to watch a fan favorite punch a controversial fighter in the mouth.

Tony Kelley and his camp had created some waves going in their fight with Adrian Yanez, from racist comments made towards his opponent to missing weight at Friday’s weigh-in. Yanez had not publicly let himself appear shaken, and instead chose to let his fists do the talking.

Talk his fists did, as Yanez broke Kelley down quickly in the first round. Starting slow, Yanez waited for Kelley to show his plan, which would revolve around a body kick Kelley kept throwing. After about ninety-second, Yanez saw everything he needed and began throwing massive counters to Kelley’s body kick, opening up combo opportunities, and eventually putting Kelley away.

Another dramatic knockout continues Adrian Yanez’s rise to a bantamweight title shot

Yanez remains undefeated in the UFC and is currently on an exciting nine professional fight win streak. Four of his last five fights have come via knockout, with only one decision victory since his debut in Dana White’s Contender Series.

The UFC’s bantamweight division is sneakily stacked, with Aljamain Sterling sitting atop a division built with fighters like Petr Yan, Jose Aldo, Cory Sandhagen, Sean O’Malley, and TJ Dillashaw. Yanez may have a shot at securing a low ranking with his knockout of Kelley, but it will take many more knockouts to get him even close to the pantheon atop the bantamweight division.
