Start spreading the news, as the Houston Astros threw a combined no-hitter on the New York Yankees in Yankee Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Houston combined to no-hit New York, 3-0. Astros starter Cristian Javier went seven innings, striking out 13, while only walking one. He improved to 5-3 on the season, as he outdueled Yankees starter Gerrit Cole. Hector Neris got the hold for the Astros by pitching a hitless eighth inning, while Ryan Pressly got the save and kept the no-hit bid intact with a hitless ninth inning.

Whether it be Astros fans, Boston Red Sox fans or baseball fans who just hate the Yankees, all of Twitter was over the moon about this no-hit bid put together by Houston.

The Astros continue to own the Yankees, as the last time the Bronx Bombers were no-hit, it was done by none other than Houston.

Though AL-leading New York may be 6.5 games better than Houston in the standings, both World Series contenders now have whopping 11-game leads over the second-place clubs in their respective divisional races.

There is still a ton of baseball left to be played this season, but the Astros and the Yankees seem to be on a collision course to meet in the ALCS once again.

While some baseball fans may dock the Astros for it being a combined no-hitter, Houston still went into the Yankees’ baseball cathedral and rendered them completely hitless for all the world to see. A win might be a win in the ledger, but not all wins are created equal. This one will certainly carry some major gravitas heading into the final game of the series between these bitter AL rivals.

May these two titans clash once again in the postseason for everybody baseball fan’s enjoyment.
