3 Chicago Cubs players guaranteed to be traded before the deadline

2) David Robertson will not be on the Cubs roster after the trade deadline
Relief pitcher David Robertson has rebuilt his reputation in an amazing way this year as the closer for the Cubs. Just as everyone was ready to write him off and expect a retirement announcement, Robertson rehabbed his way back onto the field and is now into trade deadline discussions.
Robertson was signed to only a one-year deal which makes him perfect trade fodder for the Cubs. Holding onto him beyond August 2 is pure stupidity. He’ll have suitors. Chicago just needs to find the right match for him.
The number of teams that should come calling about Robertson is plentiful. Any club in need of a right-handed upgrade for their bullpen is a match. This list would include probably every team in playoff contention and maybe even a few who are disillusioned into thinking they still have a chance.
Robertson’s time with the Cubs has been successful. The chance they provided him has paid off more than they probably ever imagined it would.
One team that could take a swing at him due to recent news about their closer is the Atlanta Braves. Kenley Jansen is out with an irregular heartbeat which is a beyond scary piece of injury news to receive. Robertson would certainly be a player for them to look into adding.
