Baker Mayfield has been traded from the Cleveland Browns to the Carolina Panthers, but where does he land in our NFL quarterback rankings?

After four years and incredibly amounts of ugly fallout this offseason, Baker Mayfield is on the move.

A former No. 1 overall pick of the Cleveland Browns, Mayfield was dealt on Wednesday afternoon to the Carolina Panthers for a conditional 2024 fifth-round pick, all while eating $10.5 million of his salary this season. The pick can improve to a fourth-round choice by meeting certain conditions.

Where does Baker Mayfield fall in NFL quarterback rankings?

For Carolina, Mayfield is an upgrade over veteran Sam Darnold — who was selected two picks after Mayfield I 2018 — but how good is he compared to other starters around the league?

All told, Mayfield ranks in the bottom half of the league but also checks in well above where Sam Darnold would have been, which is roughly in the 25-30th range. Additionally, while Mayfield is only 19th, he’s in the top half of NFC signal-callers, coming in seventh.
