Nationals star Juan Soto left behind his Home Run Derby trophy and chain in the Dodgers Stadium clubhouse, prompting some to speculate over a trade to LA.

Juan Soto is the hottest name on the trade block as the MLB trade deadline approaches and the Dodgers may be one of the teams capable of going out and getting him.

So was it just a coincidence that he left his Home Run Derby trophy and chain at Dodgers Stadium after winning them at All-Star weekend?

Fans think not.

Juan Soto left behind collectables at Dodgers Stadium

As reporters like Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic tweeted that Soto left his Home Run Derby spoils in the visitors locker room in Los Angeles, fans responded with the idea that he was just keeping them at his home stadium.

Itā€™s a fun idea, but in truth, Soto left them behind because he knew he would be right back in LA for the Nationalsā€™ series with the Dodgers starting on Monday. Heā€™ll get to take them back home later this week as Washington wraps up their post-ASG road trip.

Soto heard ā€œFuture Dodgerā€ chants from the crowd at Dodgers Stadium during All-Star weekend. Itā€™s pretty certain heā€™ll hear more during the three games he plays against the boys in blue this week.

The Nationals have traded two other stars to the Dodgers recently. They shipped Max Scherzer and Trea Turner out west last year. Itā€™s not so strange to imagine a world where Soto is reunited with Turner in blue.

The Dodgers arenā€™t the only ones vying for Sotoā€™s services. Los Angeles will face major challenges in any pursuit of Soto from the Yankees, Cardinals, Padres, Astros and others.
