3 Braves who don’t deserve to be on the roster after the trade deadline

The Atlanta Braves have a few players that should not be on their roster after the August 2 trade deadline.

The Atlanta Braves are likely going to be making some upgrades before the trade deadline. After all, they are the reigning World Series champions, and they have a stranglehold on a playoff spot this season. In fact, they have a 98 percent chance of making the playoffs, according to Baseball-Reference.

When they make those moves, they will have to get rid of some of their players that aren’t doing well. Here are three players that don’t deserve to be on the Braves roster after the trade deadline.

3 Braves that shouldn’t be on the roster after the trade deadline

1) Braves infielder Robinson Canó

Let’s call things as we see it: Robinson Canó has not been a good player (at least without steroids) for half of a decade. And he has been downright awful with the Mets, the Padres, and now, the Atlanta Braves this season.

On the season, he has only played in 32 games in the majors between the three clubs, and he is hitting .156/.190/.198 with an OPS+ of 12. In eight games with the Braves, he is hitting .182/.217/.227 with an OPS+ of 24.

He’s 39 and it might end his career, but for a playoff-bound team, they can’t have a wasted roster spot on him.
