Philadelphia Phillies star Bryce Harper is dominating the Atlanta Braves’ Triple-A affiliate, as evidenced by his showing on Aug. 24.

Philadelphia Phillies star Bryce Harper is on a rehab assignment with the Triple-A Lehigh Valley IronPigs, recovering from a broken left thumb. The team that holds the distinction of facing Harper in his reahab assignment are the Gwinnett Stripers, the Triple-A team for the rival Atlanta Braves.

On Aug. 23, Harper hit two home runs at the expense of the Stripers. If you thought Harper was done torturing the team, he recorded a walk-off, two-run double to give Lehigh Valley the 6-5 victory on Aug. 24.

Bryce Harper continues to dominate against Braves’ Triple-A team

If you wanted to know how the Stripers reacted to this loss, they sent out a rather funny tweet, saying of Harper, “this guy has a bright future ahead of him.”

Harper has been sidelined since late June after he took a fastball to the left thumb from San Diego Padres pitcher Blake Snell. It was revealed that his thumb was broken, and that he needed surgery. He was subsequently placed on the 60-day injured list.

That is not the only injury that Harper is dealing with, as he suffered a torn UCL in his right elbow earlier in the season. Despite this, Harper still played through the injury, albeit not in the outfield.

So far this season, the 2021 NL MVP is slashing .318/.385/.599 while recording 15 home runs, 48 RBI, 49 runs scored, and 77 hits.

The Phillies have to feel great about how Harper has been performing in the minors as he recovers from his thumb injury. A return to the team is on the horizon. As for when it actually happens, we’ll have to wait and see.
