Bellator 285: Benson Henderson vs. Peter Queally live results.

In front of his fellow countrymen, Peter Queally will have perhaps the most noteworthy opponent of his MMA career, let alone in Bellator, when he faces former UFC lightweight champion and Bellator title challenger Benson Henderson in the main event of Bellator 285.

Prior to today’s card, Henderson most recently fought at Bellator 273 in January, defeating Islam Mamedov by split decision. It marked his first victory in MMA since defeating Myles Jury in September 2019, with a three-fight losing skid to follow.

Henderson, who jumped from the UFC to Bellator in 2016, has previously challenged for the Bellator lightweight and welterweight titles, both times losing a decision.

Queally fought Patricky “Pitbull” Freire for the then-vacant Bellator lightweight title at Bellator 270 about a year ago, losing via second-round TKO. Freire gained an ounce of vengeance on Queally in that fight, as Queally scored a doctor’s stoppage win over the elder Pitbull brother previously.

The co-main event will see a battle of heavy hitters as Yoel Romero takes on Melvin Manhoef.

This fight, which will mark Romero’s third since jumping from the UFC, was scheduled to happen in May at Bellator 280 before Manhoef was injured while trying to stop a robbery. Romero instead scored a finish of Alex Polizzi at the literal final second of the third round.

Romero had an unsuccessful Bellator debut against Phil Davis at Bellator 266, losing a split decision.

This will mark Manhoef’s first fight in Bellator MMA since getting finished by Corey Anderson at Bellator 251 in November 2020.
