Jones started his career in 2008 and fought six times before signing with the UFC. Jones made his debut in the UFC where he went nearly undefeated for years. The only blemish on his fight record is a DQ loss to Matt Hamill which the MMA world widely regards as “not counting” due to the circumstances.

In 2012, Jones made history and became the first MMA fighter to represent Nike after the sportswear giant offered him a sponsorship deal. Two years later the deal was terminated when Jones got into a press conference brawl. This is just one blip on a long line of criminal behavior of Jones.

Throughout Jones’ career, there have been several limitations that have had an impact on Jones’ career. In 2014, he was suspended from the UFC after a hit and run felony but was reinstated in 2015. Two years later, Jones was suspended again for testing positive for performance-enhancing drugs. 

He is currently working towards making a return to the UFC, this time in the heavyweight division.
