Here is the UFC 279: Khamzat Chimaev vs. Nate Diaz odds breakdown.

The UFC makes its way back home to Las Vegas for UFC 279 headlined by Khamzat Chimaev vs. Nate Diaz. 13 fights are currently scheduled to take place live from the T-Mobile Center on Saturday, Sept. 10, 2022, starting at 6 p.m ET.

The main event features the Chimaev, a fast-rising welterweight star facing the Stockton legend. Chimaev has won all five of his UFC fights, only going the distance in his most recent showing out against Gilbert Burns. In his possible UFC swan song, Diaz comes off back-to-back losses and is seen by many as a sacrificial lamb. Diaz is still very dangerous, especially if Chimaev fights sloppy and undisciplined, as he did at times in his last fight. On the other hand, if Chimaev uses his great wrestling and stays out of grappling trouble, this fight could get ugly as Diaz cuts easily.

In the co-main event, another welterweight affair, the hard-hitting Li Jingliang squares off against the always unorthodox Tony Ferguson. Jingliang has immense power and uses good distance management. Ferguson has great footwork that could aid him in getting crucial takedowns or using elbows in the clinch in this move up to welterweight. A win here for Jingliang could elevate him into the top 10. Conversely, Ferguson is coming off four losses, all to top ten lightweights, and has taken a lot of damage. Will the move up give Ferguson a speed advantage for his creative movement, or will the power of Jingliang be too much?

UFC 279 has quite a few close betting lines; the main event isn’t among them; Chimaev (-1150) vs. Diaz (+750). Another big favorite is Jailton Almeida (-660) vs. Anton Turkalj (+490). Before placing your wagers, check out the official betting odds below.
