Kayshon Boutte is not injured but will not be active Saturday Night against New Mexico for a far more personal reason.

LSU wide receiver Kayshon Boutte is one of the most explosive players in college football and will not be active Saturday for the Tigers against New Mexico.

No, he’s not injured. He’s missing the game for a more serious reason. On Thursday, LSU Head Coach Brian Kelly released a statement that Boutte would not play against the Lobos as he will be with his girlfriend as they are expecting their first child.

First and foremost, congratulations are in order for Boutte and his girlfriend. If there was any reason to miss a game outside of injury, this is a good reason and best wishes to him. The LSU community is also happy about Boutte’s latest addition to his family and offended their congratulations to their star player on this exciting news.

LSU Football will be without their most dangerous weapon in Kayshon Boutte vs. New Mexico

On the flip side, not having an explosive player like Kayshon Boutte on the football field hinders LSU’s offense. This season, Boutte is projected to be a first-round pick in next year’s NFL draft.

So far, he only has ten catches for 93 yards through two games. Sure, his statistics haven’t been up to par even though he wears the prestigious #7 for LSU. However, there is a long way to go, and there is a high chance Boutte will pick up his production and further place himself among the best of next year’s draft-eligible wide receivers before the season ends.

Still, football takes a backseat to family, and for Kayshon Boutte, football is a vital part of his life, as is his family. We wish him and his girlfriend nothing but the best and hope his child is born healthy and happy.
