Texans finally offering fans opportunity to ditch Deshaun Watson jerseys

The Houston Texans finally did something right by allowing their fans to ditch their Deshaun Watson jerseys. 

Deshaun Watson was once beloved by the Houston Texans. Now, he is reviled not only because he left but because of his off-the-field actions, which include sexual assault allegations.

Now, the Houston organization is giving their fans an opportunity to rid themselves of the stench or any memory of No. 4. According to TMZ, Houston CEO Cal McNair announced Monday morning … for just this week, Texans supporters can swap their Watson jerseys at the NRG Stadium team store for a new set of threads at a steep discount.

TMZ also reported that the discount on the new jersey is 44 percent. And, in the caption on McNair’s video, one fan points out it’s looking to get rid of the jersey of “one particular player.” We wonder who that could be?

What’s interesting about the whole scenario is that when Watson does make his return to the field, his first opponent will be the Texans, in Houston nonetheless. You can rest assured that the crowd will not be rocking any No. 4 jerseys when Watson is in attendance and will be ruthless in the process.

In a preseason game this year, we saw how the Jacksonville Jaguars fans reacted to Watson with a colorful chant. It’s evident that Houston fans will likely do the same thing. How it affects his performance on the field remains to be seen.

One thing is for sure; the fans will be ready. They have marked this day on their calendar for quite some time and will be sure to let Watson hear it. Again, the outcome on the field is unknown until the final whistle blows.
