Boston Red Sox legend David Ortiz has been having fun in his retirement, and his most recent antic was trolling Alex Rodriguez.

Boston Red Sox legend David Ortiz, more popularly nicknamed ‘Big Papi,’ has been having a blast through his retirement. His number got retired at Fenway Park; he was inducted into the Hall of Fame this season; he hung out at numerous Red Sox games; he called the organization ‘stupid’ for not extending Xander Bogaerts; he tested his skill as a weatherman; the list goes on.

Now, he’s trolling Alex Rodriguez, popularly known as A-Rod, telling him, “The only way the Yankees can beat Houston is if you pick them… you have been wrong the whole time.”

A-Rod has been wrong in most of his postseason predictions, but in all fairness, there were quite a few victories that nobody saw coming. For the Wild Card series, he predicted the Tampa Bay Rays, the Toronto Blue Jays, the St. Louis Cardinals and the New York Mets would advance. He was wrong on every single one.

For the division series, he predicted the Houston Astros, the New York Yankees, the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Atlanta Braves would advance. Only the Yankees and the Astros did, but the Dodgers and Braves were knocked out by underdogs so it’s a fair prediction that most people shared.

He is predicting an Astros win in the ALCS, so maybe the Yankees will end up winning. The Astros seem more likely to win, but crazier things have happened this postseason.

The Astros seem more likely to win ALCS than the Yankees

During the regular season, the Astros were, overall, a better team than the Yankees. Among all teams, Houston had the 12th-best batting average (.248), seventh-best on-base percentage (.319), fifth-best slugging percentage (.424) and seventh-best OPS (.743).

The Yankees fell slightly behind in all areas aside from slugging percentage where they ranked fourth-best. For pitching, the Astros and Yankees rank second and third, respectively, across the board in ERA, batting average against and WHIP.

Anything could happen, but the Astros have a better shot at playing in the World Series.

Next. 3 Atlanta Braves who won’t be back next season and where they’ll go. dark
