Estimated pay for Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier at UFC 264/

When Conor McGregor headlines a UFC card, the money seems to fly. And it should come as no surprise the same seems to ring true for UFC 264, which he headlined with his trilogy bout against Dustin Poirier, which Poirier won after McGregor broke his leg following one round.

UFC 264 has proven to be a major success for the MMA promotion. Per UFC President Dana White at the post-fight press conference, 20,062 people packed the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas for a gate of about $16.7 million — the second-highest in UFC history. The 1.8 million buys the pay-per-view event received also marks the second-highest for the UFC.

These numbers mean McGregor and Poirier quite possibly earned big paydays. Unfortunately, we won’t know the true numbers, as the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) made a decision last year to no longer disclose a fighter’s pay.

MMA Salaries, however, has detailed estimated payouts for both men (along with the rest of the UFC 264 fighters) based on previous fight contracts, trends and drawing power.

How much did Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier make for their UFC 264 main event trilogy bout?

All in all, the site projects McGregor to have earned just over $23 million for the fight, while Poirier earned just over $5 million, assuming a flat base salary.

McGregor is estimated to have a base salary of about $5 million, while Poirier’s is at $1.5 million. Neither main event fighter (as used to be the standard in previous fighter pay disclosements) was given a win bonus — nor did either earn any of the post-fight bonuses White hands out.

While MMA Salaries projects the standard pay-per-view points for Poirier, the site estimates McGregor received five times as much, giving Poirier an additional $3.6 million and McGregor an additional $18 million for the pay-per-view purchases.

McGregor gets $11,000 in sponsorship money added in. Poirier gets $21,000 of this money.
