The Las Vegas Raiders and San Francisco 49ers are among the NFL teams that should be on upset alert entering Week 8 of the season.

October is almost over and we are almost halfway through the NFL season. Usually, this would mean that we have a good indication of who the contenders and pretenders are at this point, but the 2022 season is anything but predictable.

The upsets have been coming rapidly throughout the season, a lesson the Denver Broncos learned the hard way in Week 7, and there is sure to be more chaos in Week 8. Let’s take a look at three teams who could be in danger of getting upset this week, beginning with the San Francisco 49ers.

3. NFL Teams That Should Be On Upset Alert In Week 8 – San Francisco 49ers

The trade for Christian McCaffrey brought a ton of excitement for the 49ers but the results didn’t translate into success as San Francisco was blown out by the Kansas City Chiefs. This is not a shameful outcome since Kansas City is one of the few elite teams in the league but the path to the NFC West title is wide open for San Francisco.

A big NFC West showdown is set for Week 8 as the 49ers head to SoFi Stadium to take on the Los Angeles Rams. The 49ers have been set as 1.5-point road favorites against the Rams, largely due to Kyle Shanahan’s lengthy success against Sean McVay in the regular season.

Winning road divisional games is not easy, especially in this case with the Rams having two weeks to prepare for this matchup after their Week 7 bye. The addition of McCaffrey does provide a wrinkle to the matchup but San Francisco will need to be on top of its game to avoid getting tripped up here.
