Astros radio call of final out in World Series no-hitter will have Houston buzzing

The Houston Astros bounced back with a combined no-hitter to beat the Phillies and even up the World Series. But the radio call of the final out was electric.

There could not be a bigger possible difference than there was for the Houston Astros, their pitching in particular, than there was between Games 3 and 4 of the World Series on the road against the Philadelphia Phillies.

After giving up five home runs to the Fighting Phils on Tuesday night, Cristian Javier took the hill for the Game 4 start at Citizens Bank Park and the youngster was more than up to the task.

Javier tossed an electric six innings of no-hit baseball before manager Dusty Baker made the decision to pull him from the game. Luckily for him, that was not a poor decision as the bullpen came in and delivered in the same manner as Javier. And with closer Ryan Pressly coming out for the ninth inning, he was able to get the three outs (albeit with another walk) to secure World Series history!

And the Astros radio team of Robert Ford and Steve Sparks was in attendance and in the booth and delivered a ton of energy with their call of the final out:

Houston’s no-hitter is the first combined no-no in World Series history and only the second no-hitter in the history of the Fall Classic. Moreover, it’s also just the third no-hitter in postseason history.

Meanwhile, this is wildly the second combined no-no that Javier has started this year, which goes to show the incredible talent that the young man possesses (and perhaps the short leash that Baker keeps him on at times).

Regardless, this was exactly the dominant performance that the Astros needed after getting rocked in Game 3. Now they have the series evened up with one more game in Philadelphia before heading back to Houston for the weekend and the closing games as they try to close out the World Series.
