Former five-star quarterback D.J. Uiagalelei has entered the transfer portal after three seasons at Clemson.

Perhaps a change of scenery will do Clemson quarterback D.J. Uiagalelei a world of good?

The former five-star quarterback from Bellflower, California committed to play for Dabo Swinney across the country. While he was tabbed as the heir apparent to Trevor Lawrence at quarterback, Uiagalelei never lived up to the hype of his predecessor under center. With him being benched in favor of true freshman Cade Klubnik during the ACC Championship, the writing was on the wall.

With two years of eligibility left, let’s take a look at what teams make the most sense for DJ U.

If Bo Nix turns pro, D.J. and Matayo Uiagalelei may do O thing with their hands

There is a belief that Uiagalelei may be heading back to the West Coast by way of transfer. One team who was interested in him out of high school that could be back in the fray are the Oregon Ducks. Fate would have it, Oregon is in the running to land Uiagalei’s younger brother Matayo, who is a five-star edge prospect for 2023 coming out of St. John Bosco. Perhaps a package deal?

Since Dan Lanning is only entering his second season at the helm of Oregon, it would not be shocking for the former Georgia recruiting wiz to land the Brothers Uiagalelei. Of course, much of this is contingent on what last season’s starter Bo Nix wants to do. He could turn pro, but still has one year of eligibility left he can use because of the COVID year. Thus, Nix holds all the cards here.

If Nix enters the NFL Draft, then D.J. and Matayo Uiagalelei could reunite to do that O hands thing.
