3 Padres moves to build unreal super-team after signing Xander Bogaerts

Three more moves the San Diego Padres can make to build a super-team after adding Xander Bogaerts to the roster.
Like a 31st entrant into the Royal Rumble, the San Diego Padres caught us all napping during the final hours of the MLB Winter Meetings. They signed Xander Bogaerts to an 11-year deal, stealing him away from the Boston Red Sox in the process.
San Diego continues to build what looks like a super-team with Bogaerts now joining a club with Manny Machado and Juan Soto already on it.
What else can these Padres do to load up?
1) Padres should trade for Blue Jays catcher Alejandro Kirk
Sean Murphy might be the more desirable catcher trade target for many. But with the Toronto Blue Jays a little more backed up at the position with Danny Jansen and Gabriel Moreno with the organization, the urgency for them to trade a backstop is far more obvious. Kirk is also younger. He didn’t rely on power last year which could translate to the sometimes pitcher-friendly ballparks at PetCo in San Diego.
The Padres unloaded a lot to bring in Soto last summer so the farm system is a little more barren. The good thing about trading with the Blue Jays is that they would probably take something to help them now or later. Prospects far from making their MLB debut and those on the cusp of greatness make sense.
The Blue Jays would definitely like a left-handed bat for the MLB roster. It would take much more than anyone the Padres can offer in order to get this type of deal done. Would Jake Croneworth or Trent Grissom be a piece to get rid of?
We’ll let the Padres and Blue Jays figure out what it will take. Without subtracting too much from the roster, a super-team in San Diego can start by boosting the catcher position.
If they can’t come to an agreement, a deal with Christian Vazquez isn’t so bad. Bogaerts can welcome him.
