Predicting the best free agent the Green Bay Packers will sign: JuJu Smith-Schuster, WR
Maybe the most-watched team, during an NFL offseason for the past three years, has been the Green Bay Packers. It all hinges on the future of future Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who enters yet another offseason with a decision to make on his future. Should he opt to come back for another season, the Packers are going to have to get him some help.
Sure, the rookies Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs provided a lift at times this season, with the former really coming on strong later in the year. But, beyond Watson, the Packers have Allen Lazard as their top option.
Rodgers would probably love to see Randall Cobb back, purely based off their friendship. But, the better option would be to replace him in the slot with someone like JuJu Smith-Schuster, who is the much younger and larger target.
Smith-Schuster proved this year, with Patrick Mahomes, that he’s still got plenty to offer a team willing to look his way. After a couple of down years in Pittsburgh, right after a big-time breakout back in 2018, Smith-Schuster bounced back in 2022 with 78 receptions for 933 yards in an offense that spreads the ball around.
