Let’s see what NFL teams make the most sense to draft these former Georgia football stars.

While Georgia is the two-time defending national champions, the Dawgs are losing a ton of great players to the upcoming NFL Draft.

Admittedly, this is just par for the course at one of college football’s greatest pro football factories. Last year saw Georgia set a modern NFL Draft record with 15 players taken, including five in the first round and defensive lineman Travon Walker going No. 1 overall to the Jacksonville Jaguars. Georgia may not break either of those records this spring, but four of their stars could go top 31.

Let’s take a look at some of the best Dawgs who are turning pro and put them onto an NFL roster.

Georgia football: Finding the perfect NFL mock draft matches for these Dawgs

Stetson Bennett IV leaves Georgia as a legend, but will have to earn it in the NFL

No. 13 is now a sacred number for Dawg Nation, as The Mailman Stetson Bennett IV delivered two national championships to the Bulldog Faithful. He may be 25 years old, but Bennett has shown over the last three seasons he has what it takes to play on Sundays. Undersized and underrecruited, Bennett got the absolute most out of his dual-threat abilities playing for Georgia.

As far as when Bennett could be coming off the board, he is still probably a day-three selection. Look for him to be a fifth-round pick like Aaron Murray and Jake Fromm were before him. Though there is an outside chance Bennett is a very late third-round pick, he will get drafted in the early part of day three. Georgia’s version of Ian Book will be going to an NFL team and will play games.

For Bennett to have success in the NFL, it is imperative that he goes to a well-run organization.

Backing up Patrick Mahomes and playing for Andy Reid is a fantastic entry point

The team that I keep going back to for Bennett professionally is the Kansas City Chiefs. No, they do not need a quarterback, as this is Patrick Mahomes’ franchise now and forever going forward. However, Chad Henne is not getting any younger. Although Henne has proven to be a reliable backup quarterback, Mahomes does have a tendency of getting hurt as the season progresses.

While Bennett does not have Mahomes’ bazooka, his abilities to run and throw make him a decent candidate to be a high-quality backup for Kansas City. Admittedly, this is all about getting Bennett onto a team with an elite offensive-minded head coach. Andy Reid routinely puts his quarterbacks in advantageous situations to succeed. As far as an NFL entry point, this is as good as it can get.

Playing for Reid and backing up Mahomes will give Bennett his best shot at playing in the NFL.
