Wide receiver Stefon Diggs was frustrated after the Buffalo Bills’ Divisional Round loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. Here are five potential trade destinations for the star wide receiver.
The Buffalo Bills have shown to be consistent Super Bowl contenders out of the AFC in recent years. In 2020, they made it to the AFC Championship Game, but lost to the Kansas City Chiefs Last year, they lost once again to the Chiefs, that time in the Divisional Round. The Bills entered these playoffs looking to finally make it into the Super Bowl.
Instead, Buffalo was convincingly defeated by the Cincinnati Bengals 27-10. It wasn’t a close contest like many had anticipated, as the defense couldn’t stop Cincinnati’s offense. Not to mention that the vaunted Buffalo offense couldn’t do much. Wide receiver Stefon Diggs was held to just four receptions for 35 yards on 10 targets.
It was evident during the game that Diggs was frustrated. He was spotted yelling at quarterback Josh Allen on the sidelines late in the fourth quarter. Then after the game, Joe Buscaglia of The Athletic tweeted out that Diggs left the locker room with his stuff before the team made it to the tunnel, and that running back Duke Johnson had to stop the wide receiver and brought him back to the locker room. Diggs left the locker room again a few minutes later.
With this, fans are wondering if Diggs will orchestrate his exit from Buffalo much like he did with the Minnesota Vikings. If this were to happen (which isn’t a given), here are five teams that should make a call to the Bills for Diggs.
5 teams that should call Bills about Stefon Diggs trade amid tantrum, No. 5: Chicago Bears
The Chicago Bears have their franchise quarterback in Justin Fields. The second-year quarterback mostly did his damage while running the football. While that can be attributed to his ability to evade defenders and run up the gridiron with incredible speed, the team’s lackluster wide receiving corps plays a role in that as well.
Chicago’s leading receiver was tight end Cole Kmet, who recorded 50 receptions for 544 yards and seven touchdowns. Darnell Mooney caught 40-of-61 targets for 493 yards and two touchdowns.
The Bears need to add a top-tier receiver to help out Fields. The team has the capacity to do so, as they are set to carry $115 million in cap space, and have draft capital at their disposal.

5 teams that should call Bills about Stefon Diggs trade amid tantrum, No. 4: Baltimore Ravens
The Baltimore Ravens are entering an important offseason, as they have to try and negotiate a contract with quarterback Lamar Jackson.
Prior to the 2022 season, Jackson reportedly turned down a five-year, $250 million contract, which guaranteed $113 million. The two sides then decided to punt negotiations into this offseason. Jackson played well in his contract year, but he suffered a PCL sprain back in Week 13, forcing him to miss their final five regular-season games and their Wild Card Round game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
Ravens head coach John Harbaugh noted at the team’s end-of-season press conference that Jackson isn’t going anywhere this offseason. Not only that, but Jackson will be involved in the team’s search for a new offensive coordinator to replace Greg Roman.
Bringing in a superstar wide receiver like Diggs could help keep Jackson in Baltimore.
5 teams that should call Bills about Stefon Diggs trade amid tantrum, No. 3: Detroit Lions
The Detroit Lions shocked the world in the 2022 season, as they are a team with a very promising future. They finished the campaign with a 9-8 record, their first winning season since 2017. Not only that, but they helped eliminate the rival Green Bay Packers from playoff contention in Week 18.
Detroit has the offense set with quarterback Jared Goff having a strong bounce-back year, and with a potent passing attack of Amon Ra St. Brown, Kalif Raymond, and D.J. Chark. While they could lose Chark to free agency, they still have Jameson Williams on the roster, where he can play his first full season in 2023.
The Lions are in the position to make a big move this offseason. Not only do they have over $18 million in cap space available to them, but they have two first-round picks this season, thanks in part to the Matthew Stafford trade. They should make a move to put their offense over the top by adding another receiver.

5 teams that should call Bills about Stefon Diggs trade amid tantrum, No. 2: Green Bay Packers
The Green Bay Packers are going to be followed heavily this offseason due their looming decision regarding quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
Even though Rodgers did sign a three-year, $150.8 million contract last offseason, he did talk openly about retiring in the near future. When the Packers were eliminated from playoff contention, Rodgers didn’t give his jersey to Lions wide receiver Jameson Williams, saying “I gotta hold onto this one.” That increased the talk about this potentially being his final year with the Packers. Rodgers continued to add to the speculation, where he said he hasn’t made a decision on if or where he wants to play.
Rodgers or not, the Packers need a top-tier wide receiver on their roster after moving Davante Adams to the Las Vegas Raiders. Adding Diggs could be huge for the Packers and their quarterback, whether it’s Rodgers or Jordan Love.
5 teams that should call Bills about Stefon Diggs trade amid tantrum, No. 1: Dallas Cowboys
The Dallas Cowboys haven’t made it to the NFC Championship Game since the 1995 season. That streak continued once again this campaign, as the Cowboys lost in the Divisional Round to the San Francisco 49ers 19-12. The thing is, Dallas’ defense kept them in the game, but the offense struggled mightily. From quarterback Dak Prescott making some poor throws and the team losing running back Tony Pollard to a high ankle sprain and a fractured fibula, the offense had no answers for San Francisco’s defense.
If there was one thing evident in the game, it’s that the Cowboys need another top-end receiver to pair alongside CeeDee Lamb. The third-year wideout did as much as he could, even with an injured pinky finger, but it just wasn’t enough to get Dallas to the third-round.
Prescott didn’t help his case on Sunday, but the team did make a lengthy and lucrative investment in him. The Cowboys aren’t going to give up on him just yet. In all likelihood, they will look to give him another wide receiver to fill the void left by Amari Cooper, who they traded last offseason. They could opt to select a rookie pass-catcher in the first-round of the NFL Draft, or they could look to flip that pick for a veteran, proven wideout.
Come on, you know Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is going to try to make a big splash move, and he usually does so by bringing in a wide receiver. Again, it’s unknown if Diggs will be available, but DeAndre Hopkins is reportedly available.
