FOX announcers accidentally referred to San Francisco 49ers running back Elijah Mitchell as  Donovan Mitchell. The Cleveland Cavaliers guard said he wouldn’t be good in the NFL.

The NFL is just one round of the playoffs removed from Super Bowl 57. This past weekend, eight teams entered the Divisional Round, and only four remain. The San Francisco 49ers are one of them after they defeated the Dallas Cowboys 19-12.

During the game, one of the FOX announcers calling the 49ers-Cowboys game accidentally referred to San Francisco running back Elijah Mitchell as Donovan Mitchell. Of course, Donovan is the superstar guard for the Cleveland Cavaliers. The other FOX announcer on the call said that Donovan could be good enough to play running back.

Mitchell took to Twitter and let the world know that he believes he would not have been a good running back.

Donovan Mitchell says he wouldn’t have been a good NFL running back

You heard it from Donovan Mitchell himself.

As for Elijah Mitchell, he got the most carries on the team with 14, which he took for 51 yards. Christian McCaffrey, meanwhile, picked up 35 rushing yards and a touchdown on 10 carries, while catching six-of-eight targets for 22 yards.

Donovan Mitchell, meanwhile, last played on Jan. 16 in the Cavaliers’ 113-103 win over the New Orleans Pelicans. In that game, Mitchell played just 22 minutes before he suffered a left groin strain. He scored 11 points (three-for-nine from field) before exiting. Mitchell missed the team’s next three games, but is listed as probable to play against the New York Knicks on Jan. 24.

This season, Mitchell is averaging 28.4 points, 4.8 assists, and 3.9 rebounds while shooting 48.4-percent from the field and 39.5-percent from the three-point line.

For those who thought Donovan Mitchell could be a good running back, the guard gave a humble assessment of his abilities.
