These players who spurned the NFL Draft in favor of returning for another season have the greatest chance to influence the college football season in 2023.

NFL Draft prospects are sometimes bigger recruits than those coming from high school or the transfer portal. Having a draft-eligible player return could be the difference in a championship pursuit.

So there’s no question that the players who decided to return for the 2023 season will play a huge role in shaping the coming year in college football.

These are the returning players whose decisions could have the biggest impact in 2023.

Top 10 college football players returning to school over entering draft

No. 10: Tyler Davis, Clemson DL

Tyler Davis was a force on the defensive line for Clemson last year, tallying 9.5 tackles for loss including 5.5 sacks. The second-team All-American would have been one of the more highly-rated defensive tackle prospects on the board.

Despite his pro prospects, Davis opted to return to anchor one of the top defensive lines in college football.

Getting Davis back will be huge for a Clemson team hoping to get back into the national title conversation. Their hopes on offense rest on the shoulders of quarterback Cade Klubnik, but their exceptional defensive front will try to be at the forefront of helping them reach the goals in front of them. Tyler’s presence can’t be overstated.
