Stetson Bennett IV will be getting drafted, regardless of the DFW shenanigans

If Baker Mayfield can run from the cops, Stetson Bennett IV can get drafted. The Mailman may have spent a very early morning behind bars in DFW, but I would have been banging on doors at 6:00 a.m. too if I beat the TCU Horned Frogs by 58 points to go out on top as an absolute college football legend. Georgia does not erect statues very often, but Bennett has already earned his.

Undersized and discounted for the umpteenth time, Bennett will make whatever quarterback room he enters better. He is not for everyone, but someone will take a chance on him. I have said all along he is Georgia’s Ian Book. The former Notre Dame star not only got drafted, but he is playing in a Super Bowl. How do I know this? Notre Dame made a ridiculous graphic about it!

Shenanigans aside, Bennett has a great chance at being this draft class’ Purdy for two reasons. One, he plays in a manner similar to the 49ers quarterback. And two, he always played his best football when the game required it. Bennett is perhaps the most clutch player in Georgia football history. That gene cannot be recreated in a lab; it must be put on full display in the field of play.

If Mayfield, Johnny Manziel and Tim Tebow all went in the first round, Bennett is getting drafted.
