The weather has become a factor for the Washington Wizards, though not the weather in D.C. Snow in Texas ended up postponing their game in Detroit after the Pistons were grounded in Dallas.

That means the Wizards have been off since their 127-106 win over the San Antonio Spurs on Monday and got to rest up for this matchup with Damian Lillard and the Portland Trail Blazers in D.C.

Portland has won two straight, but its recent struggles find it in 11th in the West with a 25-26 record.

Washington is sitting at 24-26, ninth in the Eastern Conference and while the Blazers have won back-to-back, the Wizards have been even hotter.

They are winners of six straight, but will they be able to extend the streak after so much time off? Let’s take a look at the odds for this one.

Blazers vs. Wizards odds, spread and total

Blazers vs. Wizards prediction and pick

The win streak for the Wizards is impressive and four of the games came on the road down in Texas and Louisiana, but I’m not certain how impressive those six wins have been. A win over the New York Knicks at MSG to start it was good, but then beating Orlando at home, Dallas by one, then the Houston Rockets, free-falling New Orleans Pelicans and Spurs.

They’ve made up ground against soft competition, and might not be building the best tournament resume for March Madness, but in the NBA, they all count the same.

Over that six game stretch, the Wizards are also 6-0 against the spread, and are fourth in offensive rating, Portland is actually No. 1.

Jusuf Nurkic was injured again on Wednesday in Portland’s win over Memphis, and Jerami Grant is questionable with a concussion. With Nurkic out it’ll be a runway to the rim for Washington, and it’ll be able to score inside at will, so the question becomes, can they stop Dame consistently?

I think it’ll be a tough test for a team that isn’t exactly loaded with elite on-ball defenders.

The Trail Blazers are the No. 1 offense over the last six games and Lillard is averaging 39.2 points a game in that stretch. Instead of riding Washington’s hot streak, I’ll take the over.
