The NASCAR Cup Series raced at Atlanta this weekend for the Ambetter Health 400.

After the trainwreck that was the Xfinity Series race on Saturday night, the NASCAR Cup Series had fans hoping that their Atlanta weekend would go smoother than the night before.

Joey Logano, the defending Cup Series champion, sat on the pole for the race while defending race winner William Byron (who also is coming off back-to-back wins at Las Vegas and Phoenix) started 32nd and had his work cut out for him.

Teammates Joey Logano and Austin Cindric finished in the top two positions in each of the first two stages of the day, with Logano winning the first and Cindric the second.

In the third and final stage, the action really began to pick up. Kevin Harvick had the lead with around 70 laps to go before wrecking from first place thanks to what could’ve been slight contact from Ross Chastain behind him.

Then on lap 209, Aric Almirola had the lead before cutting a tire and wrecking in front of the field, taking out 2021 series champ Kyle Larson in the process.

Brad Keselowski dominated most of the last stage and had the lead on the very last lap but a strong run from Logano forced him to the front and he just barely beat Keselowski to the line, securing his first victory of the 2023 season.
