The Green Bay Packers were one of the league’s most disappointing teams this past season. They will be busy when it comes to this year’s NFL Draft.

After capturing three straight NFC North titles during his first three seasons at the helm, head coach Matt LaFleur watched his Green Bay Packers stumble to an 8-9 finish and out of the playoffs. Of course, the franchise has been in the news for months regarding the future of quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

He appears to be done with this franchise and headed to the New York Jets. However, the trade still hasn’t transpired. That could dramatically change the following.

Packers draft picks 2023

As of this writing, Green Bay has a total of 10 selections in April’s draft. That includes four picks in the seventh round.

  • Round 1: 15 overall
  • Round 2: 45 overall
  • Round 3: 78 overall
  • Round 4: 116 overall
  • Round 5: 149 overall
  • Round 5: 170 overall
  • Round 6: None
  • Round 7: 232 overall
  • Round 7: 235 overall
  • Round 7: 242 overall
  • Round 7: 256 overall

The Packers have their own original selections in the first five rounds, but their sixth-round pick now belongs to the Los Angeles Rams in a trade that involved obtaining punter Corey Bojorquez (now with the Browns) in 2021.

As previously mentioned, the club has a quartet of choices in the final round. Green Bay has its own pick, along with selections that originally belonged to the rival Lions (via the Rams in the aforementioned trade), the Jaguars (for tackle Cole Van Lanen) and a compensatory pick.

Packers draft needs 2023

Per usual, the Packers have been very quiet during free agency. In terms of needs, this list is courtesy of Pro Football Focus (subscription required).

  1. Quarterback
  2. Wide receiver
  3. Tight end
  4. Edge
  5. Linebacker

The top choice is debatable as Jordan Love is far from proven, but the Packers did spend a first-round draft choice on him in 2020. The team lost wide receiver Allen Lazard in free agency, while defensive end Dean Lowry and tight end Robert Tonyan inked deals with the rival Vikings and Bears, respectively.
