After a thrilling women’s NCAA Tournament, excitement for women’s basketball is growing.
Now it’s the WNBA’s turn in the spotlight.
The WNBA Draft is underway on Monday night with some of the stars of that March Madness run ready to make their way into the pro ranks.
Fans will have to wait to see Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese join the WNBA. Those two stars won’t be eligible for the draft until next year.
Instead, Monday night will be all about South Carolina’s Aliyah Boston and a slew of other draft eligible talents, including Stanford’s Haley Jones and Maryland’s Diamond Miller. Those will hear their names called as the 12 WNBA teams make their picks.
The Indiana Fever are on the clock first with their first ever No. 1 overall selection.

The Washington Mystics traded the draft rights to Stephanie Soares to the Dallas Wings for a future first and second round pick.
The 2023 WNBA season will begin on May 19 and continue through September as A’ja Wilson and the Las Vegas Aces look to defend their 2022 champinship.
With the recent retirements of Sue Bird, Sylvia Fowles and Maya Moore, there is room for new stars to make their names. It should be fun to watch the next up-and-comers take the floor for their new teams.
