3 Bold Predictions for Dodgers vs. Giants: NLDS Game 2
By Ben Heisler
In Game 1 of the NLDS, the Dodgers and Giants combined for four total runs scored.
All four runs came from San Francisco.
Could we see another pitcher's duel at Oracle Park tonight when the Giants host the Dodgers in Game 2? Vegas certainly thinks so with the total set at 7 runs at WynnBET Sportsbook, although the over is currently favorited at -120 odds over the under (+100).
The Giants are slight moneyline underdogs at +102 odds (bet $100 to win $102), and are +1.5 (-180) on the run line, meaning as long as they lose by one run or less, the bet still covers. The Dodgers are -112 moneyline favorites (bet $112 to win $100) and are -1.5 (+160) on the run line.
How should bettors anticipate this heated division rivalry to go down in their second game of the postseason? Here are three predictions I expect to take place tonight, with all odds available at WynnBET Sportsbook.

Over 2 Total Runs for Dodgers Through First Five Innings (+105)
The Dodgers could not figure out right-hander Logan Webb in Game 1, striking out 10 times over 7.2 innings en route to a shutout. L.A. had put up a goose egg just five times over 162 games this year during the regular season,
That's not going to happen again. Both teams have seen other's starters plenty of times and neither have been particularly dominant. Giants starting pitcher Kevin Gausman in particular, has struggled against the middle of the Dodgers' lineup and has walked 8 batters in 14 innings pitched. Justin Turner, Chris Taylor and Corey Seager own a combined average OPS of 1.239 against Gausman and should continue to stay hot tonight.
Over 3.5 Runs Through First Five Innings (-120)
I think the bats wake up for both teams in the middle innings when each team has had a few at-bats. We mentioned the Dodgers' opportunity earlier, but don't count out the Giants as well. Buster Posey and Austin Slater in particular have been outstanding against Julio Urias, with Posey leading the way with a .500 average in 21 plate appearances with three doubles, three walks and just one strikeout.
Posey also drove in two of the Giants' four runs yesterday. Look for him to stay hot and keep both offenses going.
Corey Seager to Hit a Home Run (+425)
The Dodgers' shortstop is mashing the baseball.
Via MLB Statcast data, he leads the Dodgers with a hard hit percentage of just under 50%, and has the highest expected wOBA (weighted on-base average), expected batting average, and expected slugging percentage. He also came into the postseason with six home runs in his final seven games.
In his career vs. Gausman, Seager has three hits and three walks in 10 plate appearances. He sees him incredibly well and hopefully he can connect on a long ball to pay off at over 4/1 odds.
