The Utah Jazz has come out of the gate red-hot to start the season with a 6-1 record to lead the Western Conference. They bounced back after their lone loss and head into Atlanta on a two-game winning streak with a ton of momentum at their backs. Their last time on the court. The Jazz beat the Kings 119-113 on Tuesday night. The combo of Donovan Mitchell and Mike Conley overwhelmed Sacramento and netted a combined 66 points for Utah.

The Hawks are in the middle of a back-to-back coming off a loss to the Nets 117-108 at the Barclays Center last night. DeAndre Hunter led the Hawks with a 26-point game and was a perfect 6-6 from downtown.

This game kicks off what will be a three-game road trip for Utah but they have played well away from home, losing just once. Mitchell is questionable for tonight along with Royce O’Neale for the Jazz.

We’re going to take a look at some prop bets for this matchup from WynnBET Sportsbook and make a trip of bold predictions for Thursday night.

Bold Predictions for Jazz vs. Hawks

  • Hawks OVER 54.5 in the first half (-110)
  • The game goes OVER 220.5 (+100)
  • Hawks win outright (+115)

Hawks OVER 54.5 in the first half (-110)

The Atlanta Hawks may be a .500 team at 4-4 but have been a different animal at home. Atlanta is 17th in total scoring this season fifth when we just take a look at home games. Similarly, the Hawks rank sixth in the league in first-half points, averaging 58.7 points per game in the first half when playing at home. With the best team in the NBA coming to town, I think the Hawks are going to rise to the occasion and shoot the lights out at State Farm Arena.

Total OVER 220.5 (+100)

The posted total for this game is currently at 220 (-110) and while Mitchell might be out, I think there is a good chance for a shootout tonight. The Hawks have been blowing teams out at home so far to start the year, averaging 117 points per contest at State Farm Arena. The OVER is also 4-2 in the Hawks’ last six games overall.

Getting back to Mitchell, he was also listed as questionable on Tuesday and he came out and led all scorers in that game. It didn’t appear he aggravated it further so I would expect him to be ready to go tonight in Atlanta.

The Hawks win outright (+115)

Utah has a better overall record and is on a hot streak, but, I like the Hawks at home in this spot. First off, Atlanta has yet to lose a game at State Farm Arena. Atlanta has won their home games by an average of 17 points. The Hawks are also 2-1 SU following a loss.

On top of this, there is an injury to Mitchell to consider. If he doesn’t suit up for this game, the Jazz will be without their leading scorer tonight. And, if he does, I still think this is a good bounce-back opportunity for Atlanta at home.
