Los Angeles Lakers forward Anthony Davis has an NBA ring to his name, but the 29-year old All Star forward is still in search of an NBA MVP Award.

With his recent play, and the Lakers starting to run hot, there may be an opportunity to use his recent individual awards odds movement and parlay it into a buy-low betting spot on the team instead.

Davis leads the NBA with 12.8 rebounds per game, is seventh in scoring (28.6 PPG), and ranks first in PER, or Player Efficiency Rating at 31.9. Via Statmuse, he's also on pace for a record-setting year in his 11th year in the league.

Davis' odds to win the MVP have begun to skyrocket up the odds board over the last week. Last Friday, he was still available at 100/1 at several books, but has now dropped anywhere from +2000 to +3000 in Vegas.

Despite Davis' rise, the Lakers remain outside the postseason and play-in tournament picture at 10-12 on the season. However, they're only three games separated from the Sacramento Kings, who currently hold the No. 5 spot in the playoffs.

Right now at DraftKings Sportsbook, the Lakers are +125 to make the Western Conference Play-In game. The Lakers are tied with the Oklahoma City Thunder, a projected lottery team at the start of the season, and a half game behind the current Karl-Anthony Towns-less Minnesota Timberwolves to get in.

If you're more bullish about the Lakers' chance to really right the ship, now might be a time to buy low while they're still outside the top 10 in the West. Here are their best available odds to both win the Western Conference, as well as the NBA Finals.

L.A. is still available at just under 40/1 to win the West, as well as 60/1 to win the Finals. If the Davis turnaround is real, the Lakers' improvement across the board seems to be there as well with some intriguing value on the board.

L.A. continues their road trip in Cleveland tonight for a nationally televised matchup vs. the Cavaliers.
