What better way to celebrate the Fourth of July than a couple of winning picks from your bros at BetSided? Baseball doesn’t take off for holidays, and neither do we seeing as how there is a full slate of action to cover today.

At BetSided we have been giving out daily No Run First Inning (NRFI) and Yes Run First Inning (YRFI) bets. Let's take a look at a couple of games that have value on these props as I see them and start the weekend off in the black. All odds used were provided by WynnBET Sportsbook.

Best NRFI and YRFI Bets for Monday, July 4

Chicago Cubs vs. Milwaukee Brewers YRFI (-120)

I touched on this game earlier as part of my MLB three-team parlay for this afternoon. I think the underdog Cubs have an edge in what could be a disaster for both teams on the mound. Justin Steele (3-5) and Eric Lauer (6-3) are slated to do battle on the hill, but neither are having much success in recent starts.

Four of Steele’s last five starts have featured a first-inning run and the Cubs lead MLB in first inning runs per game at .73.  So, a good chance the SP gives up a run, but an even better chance the Cubs offense gets it done for us. Lauer has allowed a first-inning run in three of his last five starts and the Brewers allow more than a half-run per game to score in the opening frame.

Tampa Bay Rays vs. Boston Red Sox NRFI (+110)

I will be siding with the two starting pitchers here in what could be one of the best pitching matchups of the day. Jalen Beeks gets the nod for Tampa Bay while Austin Davis will start for Boston in this AL East showdown.

What makes this matchup unique is that both pitchers are being used as openers. Therefore, they are not expected to pitch more than an inning or two. With no reason to pace themselves, I see both coming out hot in this game. Beeks has been a bit rough over the last few weeks but has a fantastic career batting average against this roster of .168.
