Best NRFI and YRFI Bets Today (First Inning Picks for May 11)
NRFI and YRFI are the latest trendy bet to place in Major League Baseball. The bet is on the first inning alone. If you take NRFI (No Runs First Inning) and the score remains scoreless at the end of the first, you win. If you take YRFI (Yes Runs First Inning) and either team scores a run, your bet cashes.
Let's take a look at my top three NRFI and YRFI bets for Tuesday, May 10th. All odds listed below are via WynnBET Sportsbook.
Mets vs. Nationals YRFI +100
This is a big time fade of Aaron Sanchez, who has an 8.56 ERA this season. Teams are batting .364 against him in the first inning, and now he's facing a Mets team that ranks sixth in runs per game at 4.52.
One the other side of things, Washington ranks a promising sixth in runs per first inning at 0.65.
Rays vs. Angels NRFI -140
This is a chalky pick, but it's as close of a lock as a NRFI as I think we're going to find on the board today. I'll admit, it's a little bit concerning that the Angels are averaging 0.94 runs per first inning this season, but I think they're due for some regression.
It's easily the best pitching matchup of the night. Shane McClanahan sports an impressive 3.06 ERA, and he'll face-off against AL MVP Shohei Ohtani, who has an ERA of 3.08.
Red Sox vs. Braves NRFI -120
The Red Sox and Braves both rank in the bottom 10 in first inning runs per game. The Red Sox rank 22nd, averaging only 0.4, and the Braves are even worse, ranking 26th at 0.29.
Ian Anderson got off to a slow start for the defending champs, but we're seeing some positive regression from him. He allowed only one run in 5.1 innings in his last start, and now he gets to face a struggling Red Sox offense.
