Thanksgiving Day officially begins at approximately 12:30 p.m. ET when the Buffalo Bills and Detroit Lions kick-off the first NFL game of the day.

I know you're just going to be sitting around eating food and watching the game, so why not place a few extra bets for fun? That's where same game parlays come into play.

As my Thanksgiving Day gift to you, here is my best same game parlay for the day's opening action.

Best Same Game Parlay for Bills vs. Lions

  • Alternate spread Bills -2.5
  • Alternate total OVER 45.5
  • Josh Allen 275+ passing yards
  • Gabriel Davis OVER 59.5 receiving yards
  • Jared Goff 250+ passing yards
  • Jamaal Williams Anytime TD

Alternate Spread Bills -2.5

The Bills are massive 9.5-point favorites, so they're well positioned to win the game. For the sake of the parlay, let's bring that spread down to -2.5. That way we can cross the key numbers of seven and three. All we need is Buffalo to win by a field goal to cash this leg of the parlay.

Alternate Total OVER 45.5

We're going to do the same thing with the total that we did with the spread and bring it down to a more manageable number of 45.5. The Lions have a fantastic offense but a terrible defense, which almost always leads to high-scoring games.

As soon as the two teams combine for 46 points, we can forget about this leg of the parlay and focus on the other parts of it.

Josh Allen 275+ Passing Yards

Josh Allen is averaging 293 passing yards per game and now he gets to face the worst secondary in the NFL. The Lions are giving up an average of 7.8 yards per throw, which ranks 32nd in the league. My only concern is if the Bills get up by too much too early, Buffalo may just turn to its run game to close it out.

Gabriel Davis OVER 59.5 Receiving Yards

Gabriel Davis has averaged 68 yards per game this season, well over his set total of 59.5. Not only that but he's seen at least seven targets in three of his last four starts. He should be able to take full advantage of the Lions weak secondary.

Jared Goff 250+ Passing Yards

Jared Goff is averaging only 244.2 passing yards per game this season, but the game script for the Lions should lend to him throwing the ball early and often. If the Bills get out to an early lead, as the spread indicates, the Lions will largely have to abandon the run and stick to the air attack. Garbage time yards are welcome.

Jamaal Williams Anytime TD

Jamaal Williams has scored six times in his last four games, and he has clearly been the focus of the Lions' offense near the goalline. As a little cherry on top to boost the odds, let's toss him in to score at any point in the game.
