2021 Cy Young winner Corbin Burnes faces one of the toughest lineups in baseball, can we see that elite form on Saturday?

Alejandro Kirk homered for the third straight day in Toronto’s 9-4 win over Milwaukee last night. The Blue Jays took Game 1 of the series, but Milwaukee has their best answer on the mound today. Burnes gets the ball to get the Brewers back into the win column.

Blue Jays vs. Brewers Prediction and Pick

This is not new information, but Burnes is one of the best pitchers in all of baseball. He is exactly the guy you would want on the mound if your team just gave up nine runs the night before and is facing an offense as potent as Toronto’s. The Blue Jays are third in team OPS and fifth in home runs.

That is notable because while Burnes only allowed seven homers in 2021, he has already given up ten long balls this season. Which is a staggering jump for a pitcher who has still remained dominant with an even better ERA (2.31) than last year (2.43).

That could give hitters like Alejandro Kirk, who I mentioned earlier has a homer in three-straight games a chance against Burnes. The only problem is Yusei Kikuchi doesn’t. Kikuchi has yet to go beyond the fifth inning in June and his ERA now sits at 4.94, his fielding independent pitching is even worse at 5.53.

You would be hard pressed to find a more lopsided pitching matchup on the slate today, or any day.

Pick: Brewers -1.5 (+120)
