The Tampa Bay Rays look to increase their two-game lead over the Toronto Blue Jays in the AL East this afternoon.

Both teams are above .500 in the standings despite a negative run differential on the season. The Rays, known for their dominant and overpowering pitching staff actually lead the division in runs allowed (147) this year.

Meanwhile, Toronto since getting off to a hot start has cooled off in May; going 3-7 over their last 10 games.

Here are the odds for the rubber match in the series from St. Petersburg this afternoon over at WynnBET Sportsbook.

Blue Jays vs. Rays Odds, Run Line and Total

Run Line:

  • Blue Jays -1.5 (+125)
  • Rays +1.5 (-150)

Moneyline:

  • Blue Jays -125
  • Rays +115

Total:

7.5 (OVER -105 | UNDER -115)

Blue Jays vs. Rays Prediction and Pick

If the Blue Jays want to start climbing back into the division, having phenom right-hander Alek Manoah on the mound is about as ideal a scenario as one could hope for. The 24-year old has been lights out throughout the season, not allowing more than two runs in any of his previous six starts.

He's opposed this afternoon by Rays' left-hander Jeffrey Springs, who will act as the opener. Springs has also been excellent starting off games, pitching to a 2.12 ERA with 18 strikeouts to just three walks.

While the initial lean is to go over based on both teams allowing the most runs in the division, I'll instead go under due to Manoah's consistency over the course of the season. His worst start of the year came last week when he only went five innings of two run baseball against the Guardians. He's also struck out 21 batter in 19 innings vs. the AL East this year, including two games against the first place Yankees.

This expects to play as a pitchers duel and I'll back the under as a result.

LEAN: UNDER 7.5 (-115)
