Braves vs. Mets Game 1 Prediction and Odds for Tuesday, May 3 (Fade Struggling Charlie Morton)
By Peter Dewey
The Atlanta Braves picked up a much-needed win over the New York Mets on Monday, as Max Fried spun six innings of two-run ball to lead the way.
Now, the two division rivals will play a doubleheader on Tuesday, with Game 1 kicking off at 3:10 p.m. EST.
The Braves have Charlie Morton (1-2, 7.00 ERA) on the mound against New York’s Carlos Carrasco (1-1, 4.09 ERA). Morton has struggled so far this season, as the numbers indicate, but does the veteran get back on track on Tuesday?

Braves vs. Mets Prediction and Pick for Game 1
I don’t think I can trust Morton in this spot, as the Mets have been one of the better offensive teams in baseball so far this season, ranking second in runs scored and fifth in OPS.
Morton did pitch well in his last game against the Cincinnati Reds, but he’s been tagged for four and five runs against the Los Angeles Dodgers and San Diego Padres, respectively, this season.
Atlanta is off to a slow start all around, and while last night’s win was a big one, I don’t love the Braves on a short turnaround in Game 1.
Lean: Mets Moneyline (-113)
