One player who many will have their eyes on at this week's WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play tournament is Bryson DeChambeau.

The polarizing figure was rumored to potentially make the jump to the Saudi Golf League, but has since squashed the narrative and confirmed that he'll be staying with the PGA Tour. Even with that in mind, this will be the first time that he'll be competing since the Saudi International on in the first week of February, and the first time competing on the PGA Tour since the Farmers Insurance Open in January.

WynnBET has him listed at +2800 (bet $100 to profit $2,800) to win this weekend, but if I were you, I'd stay far away from him.

Don't Bet on Bryson DeChambeau at WGC Match Play

DeChambeau has been sidelined for the past couple of months due to an injury, which is already an immediate red flag. It doesn't help things that, according to his Twitter, he swung his driver for the first time in a while earlier this week.

Just like when Tiger Woods burst onto the scene, many people have criticized DeChambeau's new swing style largely due to it being hard on the body. We saw Tiger have injury issues throughout his career largely due to his fast swing speed, and he had to re-design his swing because of it. We may just be seeing the start of that with DeChambeau.

You can add that on to the fact that the Match Play tournament is event longer than normal events. Action will get underway on Wednesday, a day earlier than normal tournaments, and if he somehow makes it to the semifinal, that means he'll need to play seven rounds across the span of five days. Not good for a guy who's coming off an injury.

Finally, as I've pointed out in a previous article, this tournament doesn't usually bode well for high-seeded players. This is one event where underdogs thrive, so even betting on a healthy DeChambeau could cause issues. Remember that he went just 1-2 here last season.

Trust me when I say you should think twice about backing DeChambeau at Austin Country Club this week.
