The wheels are starting to come off in San Francisco. After winning a franchise-record 107 games last year, many thought the Giants were poised for another division title. Things were going well early on, but the Giants have fallen on hard times and are 6-9 straight up in their last 15 games. Today the Giants get another crack at the Miami Marlins after putting a hurting on them last night 15-6.

The Marlins, on the other hand, have been struggling for quite some time and their issues are nothing new. They started the year off strong but fell off a cliff before the end of April and appear destined to finish near the bottom of the NL East.

Giants vs. Marlins Prediction and Pick

There is not much for the Giants to be excited about right now as they head into Game 3 of this weekend series. One bright spot for San Francisco has been the 25-year-old righty, Logan Webb. Webb enters this game at 5-1 with a 3.52 ERA and 1.16 WHIP in 61 ⅓ innings of work. With the Giants’ third-ranked scoring offense at his back, Webb is having a great year. The Giants are 6-1 in his last seven starts while averaging 10.5 runs per game in that span. So, while the Giants have been pretty bad over the last three weeks, they seem to perk up when Webb is on the hill.

However, the Giants will have to deal with Pablo Lopez who is gunning for his fifth win of the year. Lopez has been amazing for Miami so far this season with a 4-2 record, 1.83 ERA, and 0.98 WHIP. He tossed six innings of three-hit ball against Colorado on Monday and already has one win against the Giants this year.

I think that the Marlins have a clear edge on the mound, but Webb is no pushover. Webb has a phenomenal .122 batting average against the current Marlins while Lopez has a .187 BAA when playing San Francisco. Considering Miami’s 14th ranked scoring offense, I think this is a good spot to pound the under.

Pick: UNDER 7 (-125)
