The San Francisco Giants keep proving detractors wrong that thought their 2021 season was a total fluke.

Now, a few weeks into the season, the Giants are in second place in the NL West and just one game behind the Los Angeles Dodgers.

So far the Giants have won the first two games of their current three-game series with the Washington Nationals. The Nats, meanwhile, look to be a huge disappointment this year. Washington enters this game at 6-11; dead last in the NL East. Yesterday was their fourth loss in a row while their offense managed three total runs in their last two games. The Nats haven't scored more than three runs since April 19.

Joan Adon gets the start today for Washinton in the hopes of turning this season around while Logan Webb will start for the Giants.

Giants vs. Nationals Prediction and Pick

While the Nationals are looking at Adon as a possible guy to help turn this ship around, the Giants are looking at Adon as something to feast on. The young righty has a 5.87 ERA through his first three starts along with a 1.63 WHIP. He managed to go 6 ⅓ innings in his last game against Arizona. But the Diamondbacks have the worst batting average of any team in the MLB. The game prior, he got crushed for six runs by the lowly Pirates.

Logan Webb has had a much more pleasant start to the year and is a big reason the Giants are doing as well as they are. Webb is 1-1 with a squeaky clean 2.55 ERA and 1.08 WHIP. Both his ERA and WHIP are tied for 27th in the league. He’s doing it against good teams too with a stellar eight inning, one-run performance against the San Diego Padres.

The Giants are rolling right now and I think they should complete a sweep of the Nationals. Even if they didn’t have a pitching mismatch, I think the Nats are slowly falling apart.

Pick: Giants -1.5 (-125)
