Hawks vs. Spurs Prediction and Odds: Can Atlanta Finally Cover on the Road?
By Matt De Saro
The Atlanta Hawks is riding a five-game win-streak but hit the road tonight to the AT&T Center to take on the San Antonio Spurs. The Hawks are a weird team in terms of their win-loss splits at home and on the road. The Hawks are the best home team in the NBA, but also the worst on the road at 1-8.
The Spurs are just 4-12 this season and a rather weak 2-5 at home. The only win the Hawks have this season on the road was back on Oct 27 against the awful New Orleans Pelicans.
Atlanta comes off a strong win over the Oklahoma City Thunder 113-101 though they failed to cover the 13-point spread, although they did cover their previous four and now have a 7-11 ATS record.
The Spurs, meanwhile, lost to the Phoenix Suns at home, but did cover in their previous game.
Will the Hawks continue to fall apart away from home, or will they beat a Spurs team that struggles to win games on any court?

Hawks vs. Spurs Prediction and Pick
We have a team that is on a five-game win streak going up against a team on a five-game losing streak. Normally that would almost be enough for me to fade the Spurs but the Hawks’ record on the road is troublesome. Not only are the Hawks on a seven-game losing streak on the road, but they are also 0-9 against the spread (ATS) away from home.
I don’t usually put a whole lot of faith in home/road splits but the Hawks have such an extreme shift that I can’t just overlook it. I am not sure what reason a team as talented as the Hawks has to be so bad on the road and so good at home. But, facts are facts and I can’t reasonably trust the Hawks tonight.
Pick: San Antonio Spurs +4.5 (-110)
