Houston vs. Texas Tech Prediction, Odds, Spread and Over/Under for College Football Week 2

Houston's season got off to a hectic start and it won't get any easier.

The Cougars erased a two touchdown deficit in the second half and won a thrilling game on a two-point conversion to escape with a win against UTSA. Clayton Tune and co. remain on the road to face another Lone Star State team in Texas Tech, who is under first year head coach Joey McGuire.

The Red Raiders won their opener against FCS Murray State 63-10, but will be going to the quarterback that finished last season Donovan Smith after Week 1 starter Tyler Shough hurt his shoulder.

Houston vs. Texas Tech Prediction and Pick

I am bullish on Houston heading into the season, and will not change my opinion despite the poor offensive showing for the first three quarters of the UTSA game. Tune and his No. 1 receiver Tank Dell were able to navigate the Roadrunners defense, connecting for two touchdowns and a two-point conversion.

Meanwhile, the Red Raiders were able to bring in Zach Kittley from Western Kentucky, who helped build one of the strongest offenses in the country last season. He showed that he may be more than Bailey Zappe's play caller in Week 1, hanging 63 on Murray State.

Even with the dual threat Smith, who helped guide the Red Raiders to a bowl win over Mississippi State, I think this Red Raiders offense can hum.

I do lean towards Houston at +3 or better, but at the current numbers, the over is my favorite look. I think this could be a last team with the ball wins matchup with two highly efficient offenses.
