Baylor's Big 12 Championship defense hasn't gone as expected, 3-3 on the season and coming off a loss to West Virginia on the road.

The biggest news out of the loss in Morgantown, West Virginia is that Blake Shapen left the game with what was later diagnosed as a concussion. Shapen passed for over 300 in three quarters before leaving with the head injury, but what is his status for this week's game against Kansas?

We got the latest:

Latest Injury Update for Blake Shapen

Update No. 2: Shapen was confirmed to be playing, per ESPN's Adam Rittenberg

Update: Shapen was spotted warming up in full pads ahead of kickoff, a good sign for his availability.

It was a scary injury for Shapen, who left under his own power but played a big role in the team's loss at West Virginia as the team couldn't hold up on offense without their stud signal caller.

However, Shapen is practicing this week and does appear to be on track to play on Saturday at home against Kansas.

This is great news for the Bears, who have shifted from 8.5-point favorites to -9.5 against Kansas, who is on their backup quarterback Jason Bean for the second straight start. Stay tuned for more updates on Saturday morning ahead of the 12 PM EST kickoff.
