The smoke is starting to clear ahead of the 2022 NBA Draft, and it's coming up Jabari.

Jabari Smith, who opened as the betting favorite to be the No. 1 pick in the 2022 NBA Draft which is held by the Orlando Magic, is trending towards being the first name called on June 23rd.

It appeared to be a 3 man race early between Smith, Gonzaga's Chet Holmgren and Duke's Paolo Banchero, but after DraftExpress reported that league sources are indicating Smith will go first a few weeks back, money has poured in on Smith, making him a massive favorite.

Here are the updated odds at WynnBET Sportsbook:

2022 NBA Draft No. 1 Pick Odds

  • Jabari Smith: -500
  • Chet Holmgren: +225
  • Paolo Banchero: +1100

Jabari Smith and Magic Linked at No. 1

The original report that put Smith and Orlando together came a few weeks ago, and nothing has changed bettors opinion as Smith has continued to be bet out. From ESPN's Jonathan Givony:

While Magic executives have made it clear they will conduct a thorough process -- even extending beyond the widely believed top three prospects in Smith, Holmgren and Paolo Banchero-- most NBA teams firmly believe that's a formality and that Smith is all but assured to become the top pick. Smith, for his part, appears thrilled with that development. So is Holmgren over his looming marriage with the Oklahoma City Thunder, which is also the overwhelming expectation from NBA executives with whom we spoke at the draft combine.

Until we are told otherwise, it appears that the draft will go with Smith first to the Magic, Holmgren second to the Oklahoma City Thudner and Banchero to the Houston Rockets at No. 3 .
