Matt Rhule Is Tanking the Carolina Panthers' Season Again

The Carolina Panthers are going to be terrible at football this season.
And it’s all Matt Rhule’s fault.
The Panthers are 0-2, losing to the Browns in Week 1 and the Giants in Week 2. Even with a quarterback upgrade in Baker Mayfield and a healthy Christian McCaffrey, the wins haven’t followed. It’s time we just accept this is a lost season.
However, we, sports bettors, can win.
FanDuel has the Panthers’ win total at 5.5 wins, with the UNDER at +100 and the over at -120. Take the UNDER and don’t look back.
During Matt Rhule’s time as coach, the Panthers are 1-25 when they allow 17 points or more in a game. 1-25. That means that Carolina’s defense, which is currently allowing 22.5 points per game, would have to play at a far higher level, near historic marks, every game just to give the team a chance to realistically win that game.
At even money, I love the idea of fading the Panthers for the rest of the season. Carolina won’t get an “easy” matchup until the end of October. The Panthers’ next six games are as follows:
- Vs. Panthers
- Vs. Cardinals
- Vs. 49ers
- @ LA Rams
- Vs. Buccaneers
- @ ATL Falcons
There’s a very good possibility that the Panthers are winless heading into November. If that’s the case, they would have to win six out of nine games to surpass this win total.
The Panthers are a mess right now and they don’t deserve to be trusted in any way.
