Mavericks vs. Spurs Prediction and Odds: Doncic's Struggles Boosts Spurs at Home
By Thomas Snodgrass
The Dallas Mavericks will travel about 275 miles south to take on the in-state rival San Antonio Spurs.
The Mavericks’ star guard Luka Doncic had an off night on Wednesday against the Chicago Bulls, going 6 of 18 shooting, and finishing behind Kristaps Porzingis and Tim Hardaway Jr. on the scoring sheet, the Mavs losing 117-110. Dallas will need Doncic back to form against San Antonio on Friday.
The Spurs have had an up-and-down start to their season, but that’s to be expected when going through a rebuild. Point guard Dejounte Murray has found a new level to his game, averaging 18.4 points, 8.2 assists, and 7.9 rebounds per night.

Mavericks vs. Spurs Prediction and Pick
The Spurs have been scoring more points than the Mavericks this season and playing at a much higher pace. San Antonio’s offense has been quietly strong, being led by Dejounte Murray.
Both of these teams are in the top-10 in the NBA in turnovers, averaging just 13 turnovers per game, so the ball shouldn’t be changing hands too often.
Dallas has one of the lowest opponent shooting percentages in the NBA, and as long as they keep allowing easy and open shots, they will struggle to outscore everyone they play.
San Antonio has played decent defense in its last three games, allowing just 101.7 points per game, and I expect it to continue Friday night at home. Especially if Doncic continues to struggle finding his shot.
Pick: Spurs +115 ML
