Happy Opening Day!

The 2023 MLB season kicks off on Thursday, and the 162-game grind to the postseason starts with every team in the same place, 0-0.

While everyone technically has an equal chance to win the World Series, that's not how oddsmakers see it. The defending champion Houston Astros have the edge in the latest odds, even though they lost Justin Verlander in the offseason.

There was a ton of player movement, especially among high-profile shortstops (Trea Turner, Xander Bogaerts, Dansby Swanson) this offseason, and it has shaken up some of the odds to win the World Series.

Here's how every team stands on Opening Day, including the latest odds to bet on them to win it all:

1. Houston Astros (+600)

Losing Verlander hurts, but Houston still has a ton of the same core that dominated the AL and won the World Series last season.

2. Atlanta Braves (+750)

The NL East is absolutely loaded, but the Braves and their young core have the edge, according to Vegas.

3. Los Angeles Dodgers (+850)

The Dodgers have lost some talent, but they still are one of the deep rosters and systems in the league. They should be in the mix to win the NL West.

4. San Diego Padres (+1000)

The other team in the mix for the NL West is the Padres, who will get Fernando Tatis Jr. back and added Xander Bogaerts. This offense is scary with Manny Machado and Juan Soto also in the lineup.

5. New York Mets (+950)

Losing closer Edwin Diaz to injury is tough, but the Mets nearly won the NL East last season and added Justin Verlander to replace the oft-injured Jacob deGrom.

6. New York Yankees (+850)

Injuries to Luis Severino and Carlos Rodon has weakened New York's rotation entering this season.

7. Toronto Blue Jays (+1300)

The Blue Jays fell a little short of expectations last season, but a reworked roster should make some noise in the AL.

8. Philadelphia Phillies (+1800)

Bryce Harper is out for injury, and Rhys Hoskins is done for the year. Repeating last year's World Series run is going to be tough.

9. Seattle Mariners (+2000)

Seattle has one of the best rotations in baseball with Luis Castillo, George Kirby, Robbie Ray and Logan Gilbert.

10. St. Louis Cardinals (+2000)

The Cardinals are heavily favored to to win the weak NL Central, making them an intriguing World Series pick.

11. Cleveland Guardians (+2500)

Cleveland has an elite rotation, led by Shane Bieber, but will the team have enough offense to win the AL Central again?

12. Tampa Bay Rays (+2000)

Tampa Bay always seems to make a push for the AL East, and injuries hurt the team last season. With Wander Franco healthy, can they shock the Yankees and Jays?

13. Chicago White Sox (+4000)

The White Sox have some solid pitching, and they could be a prime bounce back team after a down year last season.

14. Los Angeles Angels (+4500)

The Angels may have the two best players in baseball, but is it enough for them to finally make the postseason?

15. Minnesota Twins (+3500)

The Twins are always hanging around the playoff picture, and they did get Carlos Correa back in free agency.

16. Milwaukee Brewers (+3500)

Milwaukee has an elite pitching staff, but after selling at the deadline last season, it's hard to trust the ownership of this team to truly compete.

17. Texas Rangers (+5000)

The Rangers added some pitching, mainly with Jacob deGrom, as they look to compete in the AL West.

18. Boston Red Sox (+6000)

The Red Sox lost Xander Bogaerts in free agency, and they could take a step back again in the 2023 season.

19. San Francisco Giants (+6000)

The Giants struck out on Aaron Judge and didn't really pivot well in free agency. They are a distant third in the NL West race.

20. Baltimore Orioles (+10000)

One of the most exciting young teams is Baltimore, and Gunnar Henderson is the favorite to win AL Rookie of the Year.

21. Chicago Cubs (+9000)

The Cubs added Dansby Swanson this offseason, but are they ready to contend in the NL Central?

22. Miami Marlins (+12000)

The Marlins are another intriuging young team, led by ace Sandy Alcantara. They have a tough road in the NL East, hence their current odds at +12000.

23. Arizona Diamondbacks (+17000)

Arizona has NL Rookie of the Year favorite Corbin Carroll, and Zac Gallen is one of the best starters in baseball. Will the D-Backs sneak into the postseason?

24. Kansas City Royals (+20000)

The Royals had a brutal season in 2022, but the team has new voices in the front office and coaching staff that could turn things around.

25. Detroit Tigers (+25000)

Is this the season that the young Tigers take a step? They have the prospects/young talent to do so.

26. Colorado Rockies (+50000)

The Rockies didn't do enough to improve in a strong NL West.

27. Cincinnati Reds (+25000)

The Reds are still in rebuild mode, but they do have a few young studs, including ace Hunter Greene.

28. Pittsburgh Pirates (+25000)

Oneil Cruz is one reason to watch the Pirates, even though they won't be great this season.

29. Washington Nationals (+50000)

Washington has to develop a lot of young players from the trades it has made the last few seasons.

30. Oakland Athletics (+100000)

The A's are not trying to win, and I wouldn't be shocked if they lose 100 games this season.
